Our story
A story that began in Buenos Aires in 1964, with a woman of vision and vocation, and that today continues in Mar del Plata with the same essence.
The origins
In 1964, in the heart of Buenos Aires, Rosa Conte de Pitti founded her first home for older adults. It was not just a business: it was the expression of a deep conviction about how those who need it most should be cared for.
As Buenos Aires grew and became more complex, Rosa found in Mar del Plata the ideal place to continue her work. The seaside city, beloved by generations of Argentines, offered the tranquility, human scale and climate her residents deserved.
In 1985, the Pitti family opened Hogar Gema, the first home in Mar del Plata. That year marked the beginning of a new stage that, over time, would lead to the four homes that make up the organization today.
“
Caring for an older adult is not just attending to their health. It is accompanying their story, respecting their pace, and giving them the dignity they deserve.
